Spring Break Rescue
Provide needy families of kids with the resources to do “fun stuff” during spring break. Traditionally Youth World sponsors have provided gift cards to McDonalds or Chuck-E-Cheese, movie passes, tickets to Six Flags, ice skating, local sporting events, etc.
Easter Basket Give-Away
Sponsored by PCA - baskets full of Easter eggs & prizes given to “at-risk” children.
Summer Feeding Program
In association with DISD, Youth World serves meals to “at-risk” children and provides a safe environment. Children take part in daily activities which include a reading program, arts and crafts, computer activities, music, stage events, guests, mentoring and life skill lessons that will remain with them throughout life.
Shoes Ride for Kids
Pre-registered children attend this wonderful event and receive a brand-new pair of school shoes in just their size! Local biker clubs take part and the children love to see the motorcycles and spend time with their sponsors! Food, fun and shoes are on the menu.
Women’s Day
Moms are given a special treat with a “pampering” day during which sponsors provide make up lessons and spa treatments free of charge. Get a group of women together in a relaxed and fun environment and they will open up about their concerns, challenges and issues; allowing Youth World to know better how to serve the whole family. Faith-based life lessons are taught and the women are treated to multi-cultural entertainment and fun.
Kids’ Carnival
Youth World provides a safe environment where kids in the community can enjoy an alternative to trick or treat and carnivals. Community kids are given candy, treats and prizes with plenty of games and activities while keeping them off the streets. This event helps families who couldn’t otherwise afford carnival spending.
Turkey Dinner
Youth World provides families with complete turkey dinners for Thanksgiving Day who otherwise would go without.
Christmas Target Shopping
Youth World takes “at-risk” children to Target Store allowing them to choose
their own Christmas gift while shopping with their sponsor.
